Los Angeles-based production powerhouse Paradox, known for most recently producing “WeCrashed” and “A Day in the Life of America”, has named Matthew Wright as their newest Production Executive. With his extensive experience across various sectors of the entertainment industry, Wright brings a wealth of expertise to his role, positioning him as a valuable asset to Paradox's future endeavors. His appointment indicates Paradox's ongoing commitment to nurturing creative talent and pushing boundaries in content creation.
A native of a quiet seaside town in the United Kingdom, Wright has consistently demonstrated his passionate commitment to the entertainment industry, making significant strides in Hollywood. His journey began at Ravensbourne University in Greenwich, London, where he crafted content for institutions including the Royal Shakespeare Company while earning his degree.
Wright’s career launched in earnest at Flare Productions, AMV BBDO's in-house production firm. Speaking on his formative experience there, Wright reminisced, "Working in production, making commercials, was the perfect platform to hone my craft. The intensity and variety of projects, sometimes five commercials a day, from pre-production to delivery, were both challenging and exhilarating.”
From commercials, Wright transitioned seamlessly into the film industry, starting with Marvel and Sony’s Morbius. Here he met Emma Ludbrook, CEO of Paradox, and the rest, as they say, is history. Over the ensuing years, Wright was tasked with event producing 'Mars Island,' a luxury music festival by Thirty Seconds to Mars, in addition to post-producing their film 'A Day in the Life of America', a project involving 92 film crews working simultaneously across the nation on July 4.

In addition to managing these high-profile projects, Wright is set to lend his creative prowess as Associate Producer to a slew of eagerly anticipated biopics, including ones on the lives of fashion titan Karl Lagerfeld and pop art icon Andy Warhol. His active involvement in upcoming projects such as Disney's "Tron: Ares” and “Adrift” (to be directed by Darren Aronofsky) further attests to Wright's versatile skill set and dedication to his craft.
Discussing his new role, Wright expressed, “I am thrilled and humbled by this opportunity. Having been granted such exceptional opportunities despite my humble beginnings, my aim is to create content that promotes inclusivity both on and off screen.”
Matthew Wright's elevation to Production Executive at Paradox reinforces the company's ethos of supporting creative talent and providing them opportunities to excel. As Wright sets his sights on acquiring and developing new intellectual properties and overseeing their production, Paradox and the entertainment industry at large look forward to his future endeavors. His unwavering commitment to excellence has established him as an indispensable asset, and his journey forward promises to be a fascinating one to watch.
